Business Headshot or Business or Corporate Portrait has been used interchangeably but there is a difference. Knowing the difference will help you communicate to us the style and look that you are going for. It also helps us set up your background, the lighting and Outfits that you want to promote you, your personality and your business. Nowadays, as people work more from home it becomes more important to project a good image online whether it be for work or for social media or for personal or professional purposes.
Generally, a professional Headshot is a tightly cropped picture from the shoulders up with the subject looking straight into the camera. Historically, Headshots were meant for casting directors to look the 100s of images for the perfect look for their movie. An actor would have more than one Headshot to reflect their talents and dynamic range of looks or emotions.
A portrait is a much more broader term where the subject does not have to be looking into the character. With the face of the subject in focus but depicting the expressions, personalities and mood more clearly. A portrait is also more than head and shoulders..There are certain rules that we have to follow for portraits but we try and blend a Headshot with a Portrait to reflect your style, personality and character. We find this much better as you will be representing the different facets of yourself for different audiences…and you have more than one character….We want to reflect y modern you, a unique and you connecting with the person that looks at your picture….the EMOTION.
